It’s been well-documented that certain emotional conditions or stresses affect the body and cause physical symptoms such as chronic pain, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, and headaches. This link between emotions, thoughts, and physical health is known as the mind-body connection. Because of this, negative psychological states can cause physical symptoms that often cannot be cured by traditional medicine. While some physical issues can’t be prevented entirely through good mental health, people who are aware of the mind-body connection typically have a better quality of life and overall health than those ignorant of the effect their thoughts have on physical conditions. To alleviate the symptoms caused by mental states, individuals must address their emotional health in an effort to re-establish a mind-body balance. This requires that people assess the negative emotions they are feeling and determine why those emotions are occurring. Once the cause is discovered, targeting these issues becomes much easier. Individuals have a better idea of the events they must deal with, along with an idea of which emotions they must express in a healthy way by talking to either a counselor or doctor. While doing this, individuals can also employ different tactics to calm their anxiety or stress. Daily exercise, yoga or meditation, and getting plenty of sleep every night are just a few examples of techniques that improve mood. These also help people develop resilience and enable them to keep such emotions to a minimum so that their body remains less affected in the future.

Thank you for pointing out that it has been well-established that certain emotional states or pressures have an impact on the body and result in symptoms like headaches, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, and chronic pain. My sister's work-related stress is affecting her health. I'll advise her to seek the assistance of a certified transformational life coach.
